Cornerstone Inn Washington IL

October 5, 2008

Judy Gross runs this Bed and Breakfast. Her and her husband converted an old bank building into a pub, bakery/restaurant and a bed and breakfast. This is located in the Heart of Washington IL and on the town sqare. Shopping on the square is picking picking and a treasure for those that like to cook or shop for antiquities.

We ate in the dining room of the bakery and we must recommend the grilled salmon. At $12.95, it is delicious and saved room for tasty bread pudding. An appetizer that is recommnded is the fried green beans.

We stayed in God’s room #5. The quilt is beautiful and the room comes with a huge jaczzi. There is a dvd/tv with only one remote which makes it easy. The bed is soft, but we found the sheets clingly maybe due a plastic liner? The towels were alittle rough and could use a new set. The bath robes were soft and luxurious.

With a bakery in the bulding the breakfast showcases their fine foods.

We had scrumpticious Pumpkin pancake. Fruit cup. Homemade pastry twists with bacon and sausage.

Their is a complimentary soda and water in the laundry room.

Parking is reserved on the side for guests, but plently also is available 100 yards away.

We appreciated the ability to check in at 12:30 and everything was prompt and efficient.
