Inn at 835 Haunted?

November 24, 2008 is the website

It is at 835 S Second downtown Springfield.

This Bed and Breakfast is on the Historic landmark places. It was an old apartment restored to a Bed And Breakfast. There is plenty of parking as the site has a banquet room in the back.

We ate at Suputos in Springfield. Reservations are highly recommended for the weekends as we saw many walk-ins turned away in a full place. We recommend the pasta and it is well known for its pizza.

We stayed in the Hyacinth room. The the brass bed is quite comfortable with plenty of pillows. There is a natural gas fireplace that is lovely to sleep to.  The bathroom comes with a jacuzzi. It is with relaxing with the bath salts provided. There is a DVD/TV with only one remote which makes it easy. The bed is great to sleep on and quiet. The robes were a little rough and could use a softening touch. The towels were nice and soft.

We had a perfect Eggs Benedict and potatoes for breakfast. The juice was a blend of cranberry and orange. There is soda and beer for nominal cost in the third floor.

Check in was at 3pm so we went to the Lincoln Museum for $10 each and had a good afternoon.

Is the inn haunted? If you google “inn at 835” you will see references to a prior tenant ghost that is rumored to exist. While we did not hear the sounds depicted in the websites, we did hear a mysterious rocking chair above us though no footsteps. The lights and fan in the bathroom went on and off independently even though one switch controlled both. This happened randomly a few times throughout the evening. Twice while occupying the bathroom and with the switch in the off position. At least the ghost was in a good mood.
